Two Ways Lucrive Helps Your Clients Pay You Faster in Nigeria

Emeka runs a branding agency in Lagos. He sends invoices to clients via WhatsApp — a PDF attachment. Then comes the familiar cycle: the client opens it, cannot read the small text on mobile, asks "what account should I pay to?", Emeka types back the account number, the client screenshots it and finally makes the transfer — sometimes days later.

Two Lucrive features cut that entire cycle. Neither requires your client to sign up for anything.

Feature 1 — Your Bank Account Prints on Every Invoice

When you add your bank details to Lucrive (Settings → General → Bank Account), those details are automatically included on every invoice you create from that point forward.

The invoice PDF has a Payment Details section that shows:

  • Bank name
  • Account number
  • Account name

It appears below the invoice totals, right where a client's eye naturally goes after they see the amount owed. They do not need to ask. They do not need to save a screenshot from a previous message. The information is on the document.

How to set it up:

① Go to Settings → General in your Lucrive dashboard

② Scroll to the Bank Account section

③ Enter your Bank Name, Account Number, and Account Name

④ Save

That is it. Every invoice you create after that — PDF and public link — will show those details automatically.

Important: Lucrive saves a snapshot of your bank details on each invoice at the time it is created. If you later change your bank account in Settings, your older invoices still show the original account. This is intentional — it prevents confusion about which account an old invoice was referencing.

Feature 2 — Share a Link Your Client Opens Without Logging In

Every invoice in Lucrive has a public link — a URL your client can open in any browser, on any device, without creating a Lucrive account.

The link looks like: https://lucrive.io/i/abc123...

When your client opens it, they see a clean page with:

  • Your business name and logo
  • Their name and address
  • All line items, quantities, and prices
  • VAT breakdown
  • Total amount due
  • Your bank account details (if you have set them up)
  • Due date

No PDF to open. No attachment to download. No app to install.

How to copy the link:

① Go to Invoices in your sidebar

② Find the invoice you want to share (it must be in Sent, Overdue, or Partial status — not a Draft)

③ Click the share icon on that row

④ Click Copy Link — the link is now in your clipboard

⑤ Paste it into WhatsApp, email, or any message

You can also send the link automatically: when you use Lucrive to email an invoice to your client, the email includes a "View Invoice Online" button that goes to this same page.

Why This Combination Works

On its own, a public link is convenient. On its own, bank details on the PDF are helpful. Together, they remove every friction point between your client receiving the invoice and them making the payment:

Every extra step between your client seeing the invoice and making the payment is a reason to delay. These two features remove the most common ones.

Who Benefits Most

Freelancers and agencies — clients receive a professional-looking page, not a PDF buried in a WhatsApp scroll

Service businesses with repeat clients — the public link can be bookmarked; clients do not need to search their inbox for the attachment

Businesses where the client pays via bank transfer — having the account number on the invoice page removes the most common follow-up question

Anyone sending invoices by WhatsApp — a link is easier to tap than an attachment to download

What Happens When the Client Opens the Link

The public invoice page is a full view of the invoice — the same information that would appear on the PDF, but formatted for a browser screen. Your business name and logo appear at the top. The line items, quantities, and unit prices are listed in a clear table. The VAT breakdown and total are shown. If you have added your bank account in Settings, the Payment Details block appears at the bottom, ready for the client to copy the account number.

There is no ad, no "create an account" prompt, no Lucrive branding that competes with yours. The page is about the invoice — your invoice, your client.

On mobile, the page is fully readable. This matters because most WhatsApp messages in Nigeria are opened on a phone. A PDF attachment may require a separate app to open; the public link opens in the browser like any other link.

What "Overdue" and "Partial" Statuses Mean for the Link

The public link is only shown for invoices in Sent, Overdue, Partial, or Paid status. Draft invoices do not have a shareable link — this prevents clients from seeing an invoice before you have finalised it.

When an invoice moves to Overdue (past the due date with no payment recorded), the public link still works. The client can still see the full invoice, including the due date and how long overdue it is. For chasing late payments, sending the link again with a short message ("Please see the outstanding invoice — bank details are on the page") is often more effective than re-attaching the PDF.

When a payment is recorded as Partial (you received some but not the full amount), the public page shows the partial payment and the remaining balance. The client can see exactly what has been settled and what is still outstanding.

Adding Your Bank Details — What to Enter

When you go to Settings → General → Bank Account, you will see three fields:

  • Bank Name — the name of your bank (e.g. Guaranty Trust Bank, Access Bank, Zenith Bank)
  • Account Number — your 10-digit NUBAN account number
  • Account Name — the name the account is registered to (usually your business name or your personal name if the account is in your name)

Enter these carefully — a wrong digit in the account number means your client transfers to the wrong account. After saving, open a test invoice PDF to confirm the details appear correctly before sharing with clients.

Sales Receipts Also Show Bank Details

If you issue sales receipts for walk-in cash or POS customers, those receipts also pull from the same bank account settings. Consistency across all your documents — invoices and receipts — means clients and customers always see the same payment information. Set It Up Once, Benefit on Every Invoice

Both features require a one-time setup — add your bank details in Settings, and the public link is generated automatically on every saved invoice. There is nothing to turn on for individual invoices.
