Lucrive's free plan is designed to be genuinely useful, not a crippled version that forces you to upgrade immediately. Most businesses starting out will get real value from it without paying anything.
But there are specific points in a business's growth where the free plan stops being enough. This post is honest about where those points are, so you can make the decision based on your actual situation, not a sales pitch.
The free plan is genuinely good for a business that is just getting started: fewer than 10 invoices every 30 days.
There are two clear signals that you have outgrown the free plan:
Signal 1: You hit the 10-invoice limit before the end of the month
When you try to create your 11th invoice, Lucrive will tell you that you have reached the limit for your current billing cycle. You either wait until your cycle resets, or upgrade.
If this happens once, it is a sign your business is growing, congratulations. If it happens every month, the free plan is now limiting you.
A Professional plan has no invoice limit. If you issue 20, 50, or 200 invoices a month, it does not matter.
Signal 2: You need proper financial reports for a bank or investor
Banks and investors ask for Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, tax summaries, and expense reports. The free plan's basic exports are fine for personal tracking. For formal documentation, the full tax reports in Professional and Enterprise plans give you formatted, ready-to-submit statements.
This is the right plan for most active businesses.
Annual plan saves ₦26,700. Pay ₦80,100 for the year instead of ₦106,800 (12 × ₦8,900).
The Professional plan pays for itself quickly. If removing the invoice limit lets you take on one more client a month, the ₦8,900 is covered.
This plan is for businesses that have grown beyond one person.
Annual plan saves ₦59,700.
If you are running a business with employees, multiple service lines, or regular interactions with large companies or government agencies, this plan covers those requirements.
Lucrive plans are software only. If you want someone to set up your records, review your pricing or prepare you for tax, Leopartis Advisory works with MSMEs directly: leopartisadvisory.com.
Go to Subscription in your Lucrive account. Choose the plan and billing cycle (monthly or annual). Payment is processed through Paystack: bank transfer, card, or USSD.
Your account upgrades immediately after payment. All your existing data (invoices, clients, receipts, budgets) carries over.
The free plan is the right place to start. If you are reading this and have not tried Lucrive yet, start free at lucrive.io. No payment details needed. When your business grows past the free plan limits, you will know it, and upgrading takes about two minutes.
