When your Nigerian business outgrows one person: team, branches and quarterly reports on Lucrive

Tunde started his logistics company from a single office in Surulere, Lagos. For two years, he handled everything himself: the invoices, the receipts, the taxes. One app, one login, done.

Then the business grew.

He opened a depot in Abuja. He hired a bookkeeper. A business partner came in to manage the Abuja operations. Suddenly, "one person, one account" stopped working. His invoices still showed the Lagos address even when the job went out of Abuja. His bookkeeper had to ask him every time she needed to pull up a client record. Every quarter, he was spending three days compiling a financial summary in Excel before sending it to his chartered accountant (CA).

The tools hadn't grown with the business.

If any part of that sounds familiar, this post is for you.

What changes when a business starts scaling

Most accounting tools are built for the person running a solo business. One address, one bank account, one person who can see everything.

But growing MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), companies with 5 to 50 staff and more than one office, have different needs:

  • Multiple locations with different addresses and sometimes different Tax Identification Numbers (TINs). A TIN is the number the government uses to identify your business for tax purposes; each branch can have its own.
  • A team that needs access to the finance system, but not necessarily to everything. Your bookkeeper shouldn't be able to change your subscription. Your operations manager needs to see invoices but not your bank details.
  • Regular financial reporting that doesn't require three days in a spreadsheet every quarter.

Lucrive's Enterprise plan was built around these three problems specifically.

Multi-branch management: the right address on every invoice

When Tunde sends an invoice for a job that left his Abuja depot, that invoice should show the Abuja address and Abuja TIN, not Lagos.

With Lucrive's branch management feature, you set up each location as a named branch with its own:

  • Address (street, city, state)
  • Branch TIN (if your Abuja operation files separately)

One branch is marked Primary: that is the address and TIN that appear on every invoice you create. When Tunde's primary branch is set to Abuja, the Abuja details go on his invoices automatically.

Set whichever branch is your primary billing location as Primary in Settings → Branch Management. All invoices will carry that branch's address and TIN until you change the primary branch.

How to set up your branches

① Go to Settings → Branch Management

② Click Add Branch and fill in the name, city, state, and address

③ Add a branch TIN if that location files separately from your headquarters

④ Repeat for each location

⑤ Click Set primary on whichever branch should appear on invoices by default

You can have as many branches as your business needs. Editing or removing a branch does not change invoices that were already sent; the address is saved on each invoice at the time it is created.

Team management: give your team access without giving them everything

Tunde's bookkeeper needs to see invoices and receipts. She does not need to change the company's subscription plan or reset Tunde's password.

Lucrive lets you invite up to five team members on the Enterprise plan. Each member gets their own login and is connected to your workspace. You assign them a role (Editor or Viewer) at invite time, and the role is recorded against their account.

The person who owns the account (the Enterprise subscriber) keeps full control of billing, settings, and team membership.

How to invite a team member

① Go to Settings → Team Management

② Click Invite Member

③ Enter their email address and choose their role (Editor or Viewer)

④ Click Send Invite

Lucrive sends them an email with an invitation link. When they click it and sign in with their Lucrive account, they are connected to your workspace automatically. If they do not yet have a Lucrive account, they will need to create one first at lucrive.io before their invitation activates.

⑤ Their status shows as Pending until they accept. Once they log in for the first time, it switches to Active.

If someone leaves the company, you remove them from the Team Management page. Their access is revoked immediately.

Pending invites do not count toward your 5-member limit. Only Active members count. So you can have invites sitting in someone's inbox without losing a seat.

Quarterly reports: automated numbers, every quarter

Most MSMEs look at their tax position once a year, when it is too late to fix much. A quarterly review of your numbers tells you early if something is wrong, before the year-end rush.

The problem is the preparation. To give your CA a useful quarterly report, you need to:

  • Total up all your invoices for the period
  • Separate paid from unpaid
  • Pull out the VAT (Value Added Tax, the 7.5% charge added on top of prices) you collected
  • Identify how much revenue you actually received in cash

Most business owners do this in a spreadsheet the night before their CA meeting. It takes hours, it is error-prone, and it happens four times a year.

On the Enterprise plan, Lucrive does this automatically.

How quarterly reports work

On the 1st of January, April, July, and October, Lucrive generates an estimated financial summary for the previous quarter automatically, with no action required from you. The summary includes:

  • Total revenue actually received (by payment date) in the period, excluding proforma, voided and cancelled invoices
  • VAT collected on that revenue
  • Total invoices issued vs. invoices paid
  • Period dates (e.g. 1 April 2026 – 30 June 2026)

You receive an email with a link to view the summary in your Lucrive dashboard under Quarterly Reports.

The summary is generated automatically and is available for download right away. It's an estimated, unaudited cash-basis summary. You can share it with your own accountant or use it as a starting point for your NRS filing.

What this replaces

Is Enterprise right for your business?

The Enterprise plan is the right fit if at least two of these are true:

  • You have more than one business location (even if the second is just a pick-up depot or satellite office)
  • You have a bookkeeper, operations manager, or business partner who needs access to your finance records
  • You file quarterly tax estimates or have a CA who reviews your books every quarter
  • You send a significant volume of invoices and need a clean paper trail for your tax filings

If you are still running solo from one location, the Professional plan covers your invoicing, receipts, expense tracking, and tax calculations. You can upgrade to Enterprise any time your needs change; your existing records move with you.

Getting started

If you are already on Lucrive, go to Settings → Subscription to upgrade to Enterprise. If you are new, you can create a free account at lucrive.io and explore the platform before choosing a plan.

The first quarter after you upgrade, Lucrive will generate your quarterly report automatically, no setup required. Add your branches and invite your team members from Settings, and the system is ready.
